Our driver will pick you up at the Paris International Airport and take you to the hotel for check in. Please note that the check in time is 2:00-3:00pm. Enjoy your day free and easy.
Saturday
Paris – Lucerne
In the morning, our guide will pick you up at the hotel to start the tour. Today we will drive from Paris to Lucerne. On our way to Switzerland, we will travel through the charming French countryside. We will later drive through Basel, Switzerland and then arrive in Lucerne early evening and spend the night here or nearby.
Sunday
Lucerne– Milan – Verona – Venice
Departing from Lucerne, we drive to the northern Italian city of Milan which is known to many as a world’s famous fashion city. Our orientation tour will include Sforza Castle, the gothic Duomo, the 19th century Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the “La Scala” opera house. Then we head to Verona, a city full of historical buildings, gorgeous architecture, and romance. We will enjoy the orientation by foot, which includes the Roman amphitheatre known as the Verona Arena. Additionally we will visit the setting of the story Romeo and Juliet. The short passageway leading to the balcony walls are covered with countless love notes which wait to be answered. Later in the evening we will depart from Verona to Venice, also known as the city of canals. Here we stay overnight or a city nearby.
Monday
Venice – Rome
After breakfast, we will take a waterbus along the Venetian canals past many marvellous architectures and churches, to San Marco Square. Here we will see the Basilica di San Marco, one the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. Close by we will visit The Bridge of Sighs, which connects the old prison to the interrogation rooms in the Doge’s Palace. Then later we view a demonstration of Murano glass-blowing. Perhaps a gondola ride to the Grand Canal would be hard to resist. In the afternoon we transfer to Rome or nearby city for the night.
Tuesday
Rome – Vatican – Florence
In the morning we will transfer to the tiny sovereign state of the Vatican. We will head over to St. Peter’s Basilica the largest Church in the smallest country in the world. The Basilica was built by Emperor Constantine in 324 AD when he officially recognized Christianity. For Christians this site is viewed as most scared and is home to the pope. The basilica in itself is an artwork composed of many artistic elements by many famous architects and artists. After lunch, we will enjoy our sightseeing including the Arch of Constantine, Pantheon and the Coliseum. Built in the year 72 AD, the Coliseums purpose was for gladiatorial combat against each other or animal to the death. Later on we will visit the Trevi fountain where you can make a wish with the customary coin toss and then enjoy the relaxing tour at Spanish Square. Afterwards we transfer to Florence or nearby city for overnight stay.
Wednesday
Florence – Pisa – Genoa
After breakfast we will explore the city of Florence, which is often referred to as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Florence is renowned for its famous fine art and architecture. We begin our day with the panoramic view from Piazzale Michelangelo, followed by a sightseeing tour on foot which features the Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River, the Piazza del Duomo and Campanile Tower. Finally we will see the Uffizi Gallery, one of the finest art galleries in the world. You will have plenty of leisure time to relax or to shop through Florence for some of its well known leather goods and products. Later on we arrive into Pisa where we can enjoy an orientation on foot and take photos at the Leaning Tower. We finish our evening by continuing on to Genoa or a city nearby for an overnight stay.
